Tarore and her book
This story is about how Tarore, a girl, stopped war in Aotearoa by bringing peace to the land.
When Tarore turned 12 her father Ngakuku took her to a mission school owned by Alfred and Charlotte Brown. Charlotte Brown said that she was an amazing student so they gave her the Gospel of Luke. She wore the book around her neck in a Kete and it was very special to her.
In 1836 sadly the mission school had to be moved over to Tauranga.Ngakuku took 21 children and one of the workers though the bush and they sore that there was a raiding party near Wairere Falls. Ngakuku, 20 children and the worker escaped but Tarore was sound asleep. Te Arawa a warrior killed her and took the special kete with the book.
Then Tarores father went back to look for her and when he found her, she was lying on the ground dead but he thought of the words of peace. The warrior who killed Tarore read the book of peace and in it, it said love your enemies. The warrior felt sad so he went to Ngakuku and said to him will you forgive me.
Then the Gospel of Luke started spreading very fast all around the North islands. Lots of people gave up war to live peacefully like Christian way. Then the warrior chief heard the story and built a church in Rauparaha. Then all of this was going to the South islands and there were good news. All of this happened because of Tarore and her little book that she wore near her heart. They made a special grave for her. This is a message for people to spread.

The little boy on a mini bike
plan
who:
when:
where:dirt track
what:A boy on a mini bike
why:his dad encouraged him
Orientation
On a sunny bright day I take one step and dust comes in my eyes then I see I’m in a dirt track. I look around and I see a little boy on a mini bike high up in the air, then in my mind I fear for him. My heart starts to beat faster and faster then I get butterflies in my tummy. I say what if this is a dream, I open my eyes wide and it’s true I really see a young boy on a mini bike.
Body
Then I say in my head, I will never let my kid on a mini bike. My face is flush to see if this is really happening.
My body starts shaking and my muscles tighten. I turn around and see a beautiful tree nice and green.
Conclusion
I fear for him and the caretaker is calm.
I feel so much fear that I’m tense and I start sweat, does the caretaker even realizes the kid needs safety. He can end up in hospital if he fell off his mini bike.

The giraffe and the pelly and me: book review
The giraffe and the pelly and me
This book is about a young boy named Billy. He visits a house that used to be a grubbers once, nearly every day then one day he sees on the house the sign SOLD. Billy wished that he became a grubber and bought that house so he can sell or kinds of lollies like sherbet, and many more. When Billys standing on the other side of the road he sees that somebodys throwing out stuff out of the window like a bathroom sink and more weird stuff to throw out. The giraffe and the pelly and the monkey needing to make money because they bought the house.
The giraffe and the pelly and the monkeys job to earn money is to clean peoples windows so they become nice and shiny, and they don’t use ladders to climb at all. The giraffe and the pelly cain has something unique about themselves, the giraffes neck can grow longer and longer and it goes higher and higher until no one has a site of her face that's how high she can go. The pelican can do something with his beak the top part can go smaller like a measuring tape so he doesn't need open his mouth.
My favourite character in this book is the giraffe because she can go as high as she wants to go in the sky. I recommend this book to 7-10 yr olds, because it has a lot of interest for little kids and it has riming words in it too, and it is also funny. I rate this 8 out of 10 because its funny and this book is illustrated by Quentin.

Boys jumping off the bridge
Orientation
OMG I can’t believe what my eyes are seeing. I see two young boys, one of the young boys leaps up in the air! it looks like he doesn't want to do it any more like he wants to get back up , and the other boy is staring at the sea concentrating and waiting for his turn.I try to think of something else to get this out of my head like how beautiful the sea looks or how fresh the air smells like, but its so terrifying to forget.
Body
It is so scary for the two boys that are so young I can't believe the will to do this, and they might, break a bone on a rock or he might drown. The boy who is jumping off make my hands all sweaty and get some little butterflies in my tummy. When he jumps off it looks like when he lands in the water he might do a belly flop.
Conclusion
I wonder what if he hurt himself and I am the only one there to help I might get in trouble and his family will never forgive me.

Mary Mackillop Center
WALT : describe a moment in time.
S.C : we need to-
- keep to one picture
- no before or after
- Explain where, when and why you're there
- Use the present tense
- Use descriptive words to show- what we see, hear, taste, smell, touch or feel.
INTRODUCTION
Today our school is at the Mary Mackillop centre. I am sitting down on my seat in Church looking at the beautiful land that they have and I tell myself, they take very good care of this property. When I turn my head and look straight ahead, I see an old women sitting near the front. She says to everyone that she worked at CTK school in 1954 and CTK was founded in 1954 so that means she was there from the start.
She is wearing a pink sweater and some blue pants and her name was Sister Elizabeth. I am so happy to see a sister that used to work at our school, I also like hearing some of the stories she is sharing. I think to myself” These nuns are very nice”.
We were still at the Chapel and I can hardly wait any longer, because I want to see their home. I wonder if their house is bigger than our school.

The Terrible Night: Book Review
The Terrible Night
This book was about Miss May who sat alone in room 28, it was supposed to be parent teachers day but no one came. No one came because of the terrible stormy night, while she was sitting waiting for parents then she saw that someone had come through the door, it was a beautiful cat. This cat made Miss May happy by changing her thoughts into good thoughts and together their imagination went to a whole new world. Their imaginations were with mad adventure and with some happy endings.
I rate this 8 out of 10. This book is so awesome that I recommend this book to ages 8 to 10 yrs old because it will inspire you “to think it could be more terrifying”.
Stan stinky: Book reveiw
Stan Stinky
This book is about a boy rat named Stan. It is his summer holidays but he says it is his boring holidays, because all his friends go to the Bahamas bay beach and he is not allowed to go, because he doesn't know how to surf and swim. His mum can’t afford it ! Instead he has to write a diary about his holiday “so boring”. For his mum to make more money she has to work all holidays. So Stan had to stay with his uncle who was a little crazy.
My favorite character is Roachy because he lights up matches and does a hilarious dance with it. I rate this 9 out of 10 because it has so much adventures and it is so interesting. I recommend this book from age 8 and above. I hope you enjoy this book.

Seven stars called Matariki
Matariki
It is a cold freezing night at the beach, I am in the water and I can see that the fire has already been lit.
I go to it to get warm and then uncle Rob says’’ Hurry up in a soft voice, we are going to tell stories now, around the fire. We are at the beach to celebrate Matariki and to look at the stars.
I am searching and searching for the seven beautiful stars called Matariki, I am looking for the stars I should see with my naked eyes. Then I find them glistening in the dark blue sky.
The are seven stars are brighter than all the rest of the stars. They are so shiny and so bright that they blow my mind.

Sheep
Sheep
Sheep are mammals.
Sheep have ungulates which means they have hooves. They are plant eaters so they are also called herbivores.
Sheep communicate with different sounds so that’s how the sheep mother can find the right baby. Sheep use their sense of smell to find their mother too. Sheep protect themselves by having a herd around.
Sheep have a hairy woolly coat and have some curly curved horns that sometime have to be disbubbed. Sheep have eyes on their sides and they are medium size.
Sheep were domesticated because they have wool and this is made into carpets, scarfs, and bennys, did you know sheep oil is also used for cream and perfume, that is how farmers earn money.

Life on the dairy farm
Life on the dairy farm
20th March 2014
When the mummy cow is pregnant, she stands up or lies down. When the calf is born it will pop out fast and try’s to stand up right away. Then the farmer will see if the calf is born and when it is, the farmer puts them in a safe shed.
In the shed the little calves are always very hungry. Most of them are very greedy, and want to be first getting the milk. As they grow older they will eat heaps of grass and they will drink lots of fresh clean water not milk.
When the young calves have tiny horns they have to be removed or disbudded and have an injection to prevent infection. They do this while cows are young so they do not hurt one another.
The farmer keeps the best female calves to be a dairy milking cow also called heifer. The dairy cows are kept in a special shed. The males are slaughtered for meat and the best male is kept for breeding.
